Does disney ever close for weather?
In general, Disney World is a 365 day a year operation. It never closes, even for rain, with basically one exception. Hurricanes.

The show must go on, and even when it is rainy, Disney World is open. Now, of course if Disney does happen to close for a weather event (like a hurricane) they will issue refunds then. But, if it is just a rainy day at Disney, the parks will remain open and no rain checks or refunds will be given.

Magic Kingdom is definitely the better park when it comes to food, attractions, character meet and greets and entertainment over Hollywood Studios. Hollywood Studios has become more a half day park, unless you are a major Star Wars fan and want to spend plenty of extra time doing galactic activities.
Personally, I feel if you are prepared with your poncho, water-friendly shoes, and umbrella, rainy days at Walt Disney World Resort are some of the best. Many folks will retreat back to their resorts resulting in lower crowds. If I had to choose, I would head on over to EPCOT for a rainy day.
